Farm Journal's Parsley Dumplings

Bear's Anecdote - A friend of mine from Huntsville, Alabama (Tim P. - It isn't good to give full names on the internet.) put me onto the Farm Journal's "Best Ever Recipes" book. He sent me a couple recipes. Here is the information on how to find the book on the web.

  1. Sift together flour, baking powder and salt into bowl.
  2. Mix in parsley.
  3. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until it looks like coarse cornmeal.
  4. Add enough milk to make a soft dough.
  5. ***DO NOT OVERMIX***
  6. Drop dumpling mixture by spoonfuls onto simmering chicken gravy. (See Farm Journal Chicken With Dumplings Recipe, elsewhere on this web site.)
  7. Simmer, uncovered, 10 minutes.
  8. Cover and simmer 10 more minutes.
  9. Serve at once!
